With its oak pegged beams, under floor heating and Aga wood burning stove, the Barn at Llanerch y Felin provides a cosy retreat for any couple wishing to enjoy the beauty of the Conwy Valley and Snowdonia in independent luxury accommodation.
Situated in over an acre of gardens and surrounded by fields, the Barn is a perfect starting point for hillwalking in the Carneddau mountains. There is a private courtyard garden with a chimminea for barbecues and guests are also welcome to wander and enjoy the rest of the garden.
Rowen is only 5 miles from the medieval walled town of Conwy which has excellent road and rail links with the rest of the UK. It is 10 miles from the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno.
Attractions close by include the National Trust owned Bodnant Gardens and the newly opened Bodnant Welsh Food Centre with its fine dining restaurant, tea rooms, wine shop, cookery school, farm shop and bee keeping centre.
Further down the Conwy Valley, the towns of Llanrwst and Betws y Coed are well worth a visit and from Blaenau Ffestiniog, a narrow gauge railway winds its way through spectacular scenery to the famous Italianate Village of Portmeirion and then onwards to Caernarfon, with its medieval castle and views of Anglesey and the Menai Straits.
The accommodation in the Barn consists of a large open plan living room with lounge, kitchen and dining areas. The kitchen has granite worktops and bespoke oak units concealing modern appliances to include touch control hob, conventional oven and microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge and freezer.
The bedroom has a King Size bed and an en-suite shower room with large electronic controlled shower and designer granite vanity unit. Linen and towels are provided.
Guests receive a welcome hamper to include bread, milk, butter, eggs and jams for breakfast. Coffee, tea and sugar are provided. The village pub is only 100metres away with a tea room serving excellent home cooked food most lunchtimes and evenings. The village also has a post office open daily apart from Sundays selling fresh produce.
The Barn is equipped with Sky HD TV, DVD player, CD and i-pod player and has WIFI Internet access. It has a good selection of books on local history and walking in the area and a choice of DVDs and board games to play.
Please contact the owner for permission to bring a small dog as certain restrictions must apply.
The conversion of the Barn to holiday accommodation and landscaping of the surrounding grounds achieved a Conwy Valley Civic Society Award for its owners in 2013.
The owners' house Llanerch y Felin is a grade II* listed Snowdonian farmhouse, built in 1590 and the oldest house in Rowen. It was recently featured in Country Homes and Interiors magazine for its sympathetic restoration and interior decor. The gardens are open for the Rowen Open Gardens Day on 18th May 2014. |

Conwy is a walled market town in Gwynedd, north Wales. It is situated near to Llechwedd, Rowen, Gyffin, Deganwy and Eglwysbach and is one of around 100 towns or villages in Gwynedd in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest main cities are Bangor (population 15,280), Swansea (population 169,880), and Newport (which has a population of 116,143 according to the 2001 Census).
With its distinctive town walls and the impressive Conwy Castle, as well as the Conwy suspension bridge, this is a town full of character with plenty to occupy any visitor.
